Day 184: Everyone Loves A Bargain

What's the best part of Christmas shopping? The clearance sales afterward. To me, anyway. I picked up these 3 boxes of Keurig K-Cups for Chandra for $5.00 each box of 48. That is a huge savings over what these normally sell for. They are the "Holiday Collection", so they are not the regular sort of flavors that she would normally pick out, but so far she likes them. So score on the savings.

I guess that's one way to be a good steward of the funds that God gives to us. Always look for the best way to get the most for the dollar. Before we were converted we really liked to use the old plastic and in doing so we racked up the bills fairly quickly. Since our conversions we have realized that we did not spend money in a manner that glorified God, so we really put a screeching halt to spending, which is/ was great. But like any sin we still have to deal with the consequences due to our sinful spending habits.

God has still been gracious to us and is allowing us the slowly, but surely pay our debt down. In the next 18-24 months we should be down to a level that may allow for some major lifestyle changes that we believe would also glorify God. More to come about that as the time passes, but we have a goal and we will achieve it with God's help. Unless the U.S. Dollar totally collapses and then who knows what will happen?

1 Corinthians 10:31 tells us to glorify God with our eating, drinking and whatever else we do. That command pretty much sums up everything within our lives. That is our goal, but God is our source and we (every Christian) needs to keep Him as our focus. Keep our path sure and make sure we are living for Him. He has promised to take care of us and supply our needs, so why don;t we just believe that and leave the consequences to Him. He knows what is best for us and maybe the experience of financial issues will help us to minister to others in the future. It is yet to be seen.
