Buffet Line Christianity.

How many people do you know that treat the Word of God like a buffet line? "Give me some love, kindness, charity, a side of meekness. Oh and throw on as much forgiveness as you can." See anything missing? How about repentance, faith, longsuffering and temperance?

The biggest problem with the American form of Christianity is the lack of God's true message. The preachers have a watered down message that is very man centered instead of Christ being the center. You would be hard pressed to step into a church on Sunday mornings and hear the words - repentance, judgment, damnation or righteousness. The very first Word said by our Savior when He started His earthly ministry was REPENT (Mark 1:15). He also said that He came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repent (Luke 5:32) and twice within 3 verses in Luke 13:3,5 to Repent or perish.

Unless a person has truly repented of their sins, turned from them, been reborn in Christ, then they are not a Christian. It goes without saying that a truly born again Christian will be exceedingly sorrowful of their sins against the most gracious, forgiving God. Just as it is not physically possible for a man to become a car after sitting in his garage, a spiritually reborn true Christian can not become a sinner again. Let me clarify that statement- everyone sins, if we say that we don't we are a liar (1 John 1:8), and as you know all liars will have their part in the lake of fire (Rev. 21:8). A Christian will fall into sin, not dive into it. Also upon sinning the Christian will be guilt ridden as their conscience (Rom. 2:15) overwhelms them to a daily repentance to the Lord for their sins. It is not possible for a Christian to live a constant life of sin and immorality. The true Christian will also hold dear what the Lord says in His Word, he will read and study the Bible daily to see what the Lord is speaking to him. If you have a little dust on the bible, you better start a thorough examination of yourself as commanded by Paul to the Corinthians in 2 Cor. 13:5, then read 1 John and see if what you believe a Christian is lines up with what God says a Christian is.

Just a few things that prevail in the American churches (buildings, not the Lords true Church) that are glossed over that may be signs you are not a true Christian:
1. Drunkenness
2. Premarital sexual relationships - as well as cheating
3. Praying to anyone except God (saints, Mary, etc.)
4. Pornography
5. Cheating on taxes
6. Stealing from your employer (it doesn't matter if it's a paper clip or a computer, it's all stealing - as well as not putting in a full days work for a full days pay)
7. Abortion (murder)
8. Blasphemy (which includes a lot more than the most common phrase that comes to mind)
9. Gambling
10. Watching un-Christian type movies
11. Violent types of "entertainment" (UFC, WWE, Cage Fighting, etc.)
12. Yoga
13. Anything else I didn't mention that just popped into your head

If you are involved with any of those things I beg you to examine yourself. If your basis for salvation is from a single prayer, if you have no remorse for your sinful life, if you are involved in Freemasonry, if you are now calling me a Pharisee or a legalist I beg you to read the bible to see what true Christianity is and turn from your sins and follow God on His path, a narrow path with a narrow gate. Not the path of the world, which is broad and leads to destruction. I am not a legalist or a modern Pharisee I am a broken sinner that has been saved by Christ’s sacrifice on Calvary. I have nothing to gain from this, I am not asking for you to join a church or send any money. I may not know you personally, but I love you as a human, as a soul in this existence that still has a chance to turn from the sins of this blink of an eye existence and turn to God, repent of your sin, become a new creation and live as the bible teaches. It will not be easy, you will not get everything you ask for, you will not be healed because someone slaps you on the forehead, you will not be treated the same by people at work, you will probably even be laughed at, ridiculed and called names. People in other countries are dying because they profess Christ as savior, so it’s not going to be that bad for you to be called a Jesus freak by Bob at work. As a Christian you will pray for ol’ Bob. I don’t want anyone to go to hell, but sadly the state of the church (not Christ’s church, but American churches) in this day is very indifferent to Christ, they thrive on the feel good message and prosperity of ‘What can God do for you?” How about pull you out of a pit of fire? How about die an agonizing death on a cross for you? How about creating the beautiful reminders of His majesty all around you? You should be asking ‘What must I do for God?” He asks a very simple thing – Repent and trust and He will take care of the details.

Until next time. Please read and study your bible daily. Walk with the Lord and tell everyone you know about His saving power and grace towards us – sinners. Pass out some tracts, talk to the cashier at Wal Mart, talk to Bob at work. But most of all live a humble life in solemn gratitude for a wonderful, glorious God. We deserve the grave, but He gives us His mercy.

I use instaverse daily. It is an invaluable tool or looking up scripture. After installing, just put your cursor of a a scripture such as Acts 4:13 and wait a couple seconds and it pops up to let you see the scripture. Also when using your favorite word processing program if you just type Luke 13:5 and then push alt f8 instavers will then paste the verse you input into your document. A great time saver for sure. Repent and be blessed?

First let me qualify this posting. The Lord has really opened my eyes over the past 12-18 months to a lot that goes on by preachers. The twisting of scriptures, the declaration of people being "saved", "God shaped holes", etc. I have been praying for months that my current home church would see that what is being proclaimed is not biblical. The pastor has been confronted and agreed, but thencontinued his course. This was done by a good friend of mine on a few occasions. I have confronted the associate pastor and he has likewise remained on his course. I have heard them both on several occasions declare people saved because they said a magical prayer. That's just not biblical, especially from leaders in churches.

This leads to my point. I have been praying for either the Lord to lead me to a new church or the leaders of my current church to see their errors. I have neither right now, but know it must be the former... I must find a biblically sound church home with leadership that lead biblically and are not worried if they step on a few toes, as long as they procalim the true Gospel.

Today's message started this morning, it was about being in Gods favor. Kind of a quasi-name it and claim it message, even thought the pastor said "we are not a name it and claim it church". Being in God's favor is biblical and he started out with his 5 point message. The first point was prayer - O.K. so far, you must be prayerfully seeking God. Second tithing/ giving, still O.K. Then we get the invitation/ altar call and it is status quo, declaring people saved.

The sermon continued this evening. A recap of the first 2 points, on to the third - Repentance. I thought great, wonderful! He is going to proclaim Christ's command to repent or perish Luke 13:3, 5. A big wrong-o. He used Acts 3:19 as his text for this point which is "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. " His point was Repent in order to gain God's favor. WHAT? Did he just say that? He even went on to say " The messages we (modern preachers) give today do not say much about repentance, judgement or accountability. We fluff things up so we don't step on many toes, but you must repent in order to gain Gods favor and be blessed".

I believe this may have been God's way of telling me to get out of this heretical teaching and into a scripurally sound church. I have really hoped and prayed that my current church leadership would realize the error of their ways, but who am I to tell them they aren't biblical? I haven't got a theology degree or even been inside of a seminary. I just love the Lord and His Word and He has granted me eyes and ears that are very discerning. Praise the Lord for that.

So if anyone knows of any biblically sound, Word of the Lord proclaiming churches in the Paducah Kentucky area, please let me know. I have one in mind that I have heard some very favorable things about the pastor.

Catch ya next time, until then repent and be blessed saved!

Declarations Of Salvation By Pastors

An issue that not many people put much thought into is altar calls - more specific what happens during and after an altar call.

Altar calls are a fairly new creation in Christian history. They are believed to have been started/ created by Charles Finney. He often times used "anxious seats". The reason for these seats were to force a decision, to get results.

There were in fact many decisions made using this method. Many since Finney have evolved the altar call into what it is now - A vain attempt by man to force a decision and avoid the work of the Holy Spirit on a persons conscience and soul. Some of the well known preachers that use or have used this method are D.L. Moody, Billy Sunday, Luis Paloa and Billy Graham.

While scripture does tell us to "Compel them to come" and "I beseech you, be reconciled to God", there is no mention of an altar call, an anxious seat or anything remotely close. Don't get me wrong, I am in favor of altar calls if God's Word has been properly proclaimed and His Spirit has done a work in someone's conscience and heart. With that being said - 5 stanzas of "Just As I Am", "I Surrender All" or "Softly And Tenderly" are probably not great works of God in a mans heart - they are songs that are used to inspire emotion that leads to decisions that lead to numbers.

The most dangerous part of this is the declaration by an altar worker, elder or pastor that someone has "asked Jesus into their heart", "made a decision for Christ" or most commonly "been saved today". With this declaration many people are being sent a firey hell. Salvation is not a walk down an isle, it is not a decision, it is not a temporary feeling that lasts for a little while and then goes away. Salvation is permanent, you can not lose it and once you have it you will walk with God, you will REPENT daily and you will be changed - BORN AGAIN. Many people are under the false impression that since a preacher told them they were saved that they have it all taken care of now. Nothing in the bible is spoken of salvation being a one time thing, salvation is an ongoing, growing existence that is evidenced by a disdain for sin, an open proclamation of Gods work in their life and a markedly changed lifestyle. We are commanded to test and examine ourselves that we are in the faith, not look at the day written in the back of our bible, recall a time walking down the isle, a decision, baptism, or "asking Jesus into your heart".

Let's break down the term "Born Again" because it seems to be thrown around a lot these days, with very little thought on it's meaning. Think of natural/ fleshly birth. If you are born a Caucasian, there is no way you can become Asian, a puppy can not become a kitten, a fish can not become a elephant. When a person becomes Born Again - they are rebirthed with a new heart, they are a new creation in Christ. A truly born again, repenting Christian can then not become a sinner again. It is not in their "make up", it is not possible. They will walk in the light of the Lord and shun the darkness, they will want to please the Lord and when they do fall into sin - they will repent, they will not use the saving grace of Christs death, burial and resurrection as a "get out of hell free card". That is an open disdain and is a lie from the pits of hell. A true Christian will be so heartbroken when they sin, that they are causing their Father pain, that they will cry out for mercy and forgiveness.

What has happend to Christianity in the USA? No where else has a decison taken the place of a true life changing experience with God Almighty. No where in scripture can be found of a decision, a walk down an isle, a magical prayer, being baptized or a proclamation by anyone other than Christ been a sign for being born again. But so many these days are being deceived by the millions. Stand in front of a pub and ask everyone that enters and stumbles out if they are a Christian and at least 75% will declare they "took care of that a long time ago" or that they are saved. Is that the case with you? Have you had a life changing experience with the Lord? If not I beg you with all that I am to repent and turn from your sinful life. Any questions? Feel free to contact me, I will show you the biblical way to salvation, and it won't be the Roman Road or 4 Spiritual Points.

Paul Washer Explains it a lot better than I can.

What is Truth?

Hi all. This blog is in it's very infant stage of planning. I pray that this becomes a tool for current believers, those that the Lord is drawing to Him and those that believe they are born again and sadly aren't.

I challenge readers to check out what I write and see how it aligns with God's Word, because that is my only concern. I am not concerned with personal "opinion" unless it lines up with scripture. Please don't email me or comment if you start out with "In my opinion..." unless it can be backed up with scripture as well. I do enjoy constructive dialog, I am by no means a biblical scholar or teacher. I am just a small voice of a wretched sinner that deserves nothing but hellfire and damnation and instead God has given me His Grace and Forgiveness. I am truly heartbroken as the many lost that profess to be Christians and are on the fast track to hell.

I plead that you to do as 2 Cor. 13:5 commands us and examine to see if you are in the faith. Chances are if you never had a permanent, life changing experience with the Lord, if you have not turned from your sinful life, if you think that a single profession of faith or decision saved you, if you base your salvation on a preachers word, if your bible hasn't been opened in years, if you can live in sin daily without remorse, if you think Jesus is your get out of hell free ticket, if your statement of faith starts out " I am a good person, if you have done anything other than repent of your sins and follow Christ, then you are not born again.

What the Lord begins, he will finish - Phil. 1:6. If God started a good work in you, salvation, He will continue and you will continue. You will not look back at the sins you once loved and desire to return to them Luke 9:62. The Lord is faithful and true and will not halfway do anything in your life. You will not despise reading Gods Word, His love letter to you, you will not despise fellowship with believers, you will not desire to live of the world but to be in the world proclaiming Gods Name.

Live your life with boldness for Christ. Anything less you should question. Pray for forgiveness and REPENT and follow Christ - Matt. 4:17 are Jesus' very first recorded Words when He began His ministry. Luke 13:3,5 the Lord Himself states again to REPENT or perish, not say this short prayer - make this profession of faith - come down the isle after 5 stanzas of "Just As I Am" - write this date in the back of your bible ... He says REPENT OR PERISH. Understand also that repenting is not a one time affair, it is a lifestyle and if you are truely born again, then you will be repenting daily, hourly, every waking moment.

I invite you to check out some of my study links. Use them as tools for your walk with the Lord.
Until next time - Acts 4:13
Live your life so that everyone you come into contact with will KNOW that you have been with Jesus
