Day 66: All In The Family

Well, Allan just purchased a new iPod Touch, with his hard earned and saved up money, this evening. So, that brings the total up to 2 iPhone 4s, 1 iPod Nano and 1 iPod Touch in the household. Now we just have to get Forrest to save some funds instead of blowing his money when he gets $30- $40 saved up, so he can join the Apple club.

Allan was grinning from ear to ear when he got the touch tonight. It was really good for me to see him happy that he had earned and saved the money to get something he has been wanting. It just brings to mind of how happy God is when He see's His children happy. Not that He needs us to be happy, but instead He is happy because His children are happy. Also, it reminded me of a John Piper quote- "God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him". Allan said our blessing with dinner tonight and thanked God for our safe trip to pick up the iPod and for the money to get it. Just shows that kids do pay attention to what goes on around them too. We have been teaching them that everything is a gift from God, whether it is a new iPod or the jobs that we have. God supplies everything for us and we should give thanks in everything as 1 Corinthians 10:31 says.

It was a good day, capped off with Allan showing me how to glory in the Lord in yet another way. Kids are great, even if they do get you mad sometimes and throw fits from time to time and don't seem to want to listen all the time and ..... Never mind, it's not worth the effort to write a list of bad characteristics of children, but instead we need to thank God for them as they can show us and teach us so much about the love of the Father for us.
