Every Sunday Is A Super Sunday

Day 219 in my "Year In My Life Through Pictures" blog series

Today was Super Bowl Sunday. It was also the first Sunday of the month, which we, at Oak Grove have our monthly fellowship meal, partake of the Lord's Supper and do not have an evening service because we are there from 9:00 until about 1:30-2:00ish sometimes. This allows for fellowships at members homes from time to time. Super Bowl Sunday just so happens to be one of those times.

A dear brother and sister opened their home for everyone to come over. The picture only shows one of the rooms with a TV in it with the game on. Honestly though, I don't think many were actually watching the game. It was more a time of fellowship than sitting around yelling for a football game. Just as I would prefer it to be, just another reason to get together and tell of the goodness of the Lord.

There were several families there, probably the most of any fellowship I've been to at someones house. I had the opportunity to talk to a new attender to Oak Grove too. I actually kind of worked with him over 20 years ago, when we both worked in restaurants, for the same owner, but different establishments. It was good to start to get reacquainted and start to build a friendship and get to know him and his family better, especially since we were both converted after our previous work time together back in the day.

God is so gracious to lay our paths out to come in contact with those we once knew. To reconnect and share in the goodness of God and tell of how He brought us from where we were to where we are now, to the common goal of where we are headed. It is great to forge new relationships. May the Lord continue to add to His body and may we all continue in His plan of glorifying Him above all of the earthly reasons we get together.
